Community Guidelines

1. Why These Exist
Eeda is a directory of local pros and the people who use them. It works when what you see on it is true, and when the people on it treat each other decently. These Guidelines are the short version of the rules in our Terms of Service. They are part of those Terms, and breaking them can get content removed or an account closed.
2. Be Decent to People
- No harassment, threats, name-calling, or public shaming — in a review, a note, a reply, or anywhere else.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks or demeans anyone because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, familial status, military or veteran status, or anything else the law protects. We remove it and close the account.
- Treat people fairly. Pros do not refuse work, charge more, or give worse service because of who a customer is; customers do not treat a pro that way either. A pro may turn down a job for ordinary business reasons — wrong trade, too far away, too busy.
3. Write From Your Own Experience
- A review is about a pro you actually dealt with, written by you from your own experience — one review per pro, from a home account (pro accounts don’t write reviews), and never of your own business. A person at Eeda reads every review before it appears, and we do not post one that breaks these rules; you will be told in the app.
- Saving a pro to “My Pros” and sharing it with friends means “I would hand you this number.” It is your opinion, not a rating. Save pros you know from your own experience, and keep your note honest: your friends see it, with your name and the date, on the pro’s page, on their Friends tab and on their Pros tab (with your first name there).
- Say what happened. Do not exaggerate, invent, or paste in photos, documents, or messages that were altered, staged, or made up.
- Keep it about the job. No politics, religion, or comments about someone’s personal life.
- Pros: you may post one public reply to a review. Keep it about the job, keep it civil, and never share anything about the customer that the review itself does not show. A reply cannot be edited or removed once posted.
4. Do Not Post About Your Own Business
- Do not review, or save and share, your own business, a business you work for or are related to, or a competitor. If you review a business you are connected to, say so in the review. The app refuses to add a business to your My Pros when your cell phone number is the number on its page.
- Pros: never offer money, a discount, free work, or a refund for a review, a save, a better rating, taking a review down, or a friend connection. Never threaten anyone over a review. Never create or borrow customer accounts, and never ask customers to add you as a friend to build up saves.
- We remove reviews and saves that come from arrangements like these, and we can remove the listing that benefited.
5. Keep Other People’s Private Details Out of It
- Do not post anyone’s phone number, address, or other private details that they have not made public.
- Photos: only upload ones you took or have the right to use, and remove or get permission for anything that identifies someone else — a face, a name, a house number, a license plate, the inside of a home that is not yours.
- Pros — before & after photos: show only your own work, and only with the homeowner’s permission. Never show a house number, a street sign, a license plate, an address, or a person who has not agreed to be in the picture. A person at Eeda looks at every pair before it goes up, and may decline it or take it down.
- Pros: a customer who calls, texts or emails you gives you their number or email address, and whatever else they tell you, for one job. So does a customer whose booking you confirm: their address and phone number reach you for that booking only. Use it for that job and nothing else — no marketing lists, no passing it on. If a customer asks you to stop contacting them, stop.
6. Be Who You Say You Are
- Use the name your friends would know you by. We do not look into anyone’s identity, so a name on Eeda is what that person typed, not proof of who they are.
- One home account per person (a business that hires pros uses it too), plus one pro account if you offer services on Eeda. Do not share, sell, or lend either.
- A profile picture is optional. If you add one, make it a picture of yourself or something harmless — never someone else’s photo, a logo, anything explicit, or anything that shows another person’s home or details. We can take a picture down and may close the account it was on.
- Pros: only list a business you own or are authorized to run. Never use another business’s name, logo, photos, license number, or address, and take your listing down if you leave or sell the business.
- Pros: everything in the credentials area of your listing — license number, insurance certificate, bonded, veteran-owned, family-owned — is your statement, shown to customers exactly as you provided it, with the date. Once the month you gave for your insurance certificate has ended, customers no longer see it or the “Insured” badge until you add the new one. Keep it true and keep it current. Eeda does not check it, and customers are told to look a license up with the state themselves.
- You must be 18 or older to use Eeda.
7. Friends and Contacts
- Adding someone as a friend is an invitation, not a right. Sharing is mutual: you see each other’s shared pros only once you have added each other. Anyone can remove a friend at any time, and removing one ends the connection on both sides — neither of you sees what the other shared, and either of you can invite the other again later.
- Do not use friend requests, invitations, or the member search to pester, advertise to, or sell to people who did not ask to hear from you.
- If you use your phone’s contacts to find friends, only do it with your own contacts, for yourself. Your phone scrambles the numbers before anything leaves it, and names and numbers stay on your phone. A home account keeps only the scrambled codes, so it can be told when someone in its contacts joins Eeda — switch that off on the Account tab and the codes are deleted. When you invite a pro, Eeda keeps a scrambled code of that one number, so it knows if they join. We never message anyone in your contacts.
- Inviting pros: invite only pros you know, say you may get a $25 Virtual Visa card wherever you share your link (the invite the app writes says it for you), and never post your link on coupon or deal sites (Terms 7.6).
8. Jobs, Quotes, and Bookings
- Post real jobs only — work you actually want done at a place you can hire for. No tests, no advertising dressed up as a job, and no job you have no intention of hiring for.
- Leave contact details out. No phone numbers, email addresses, web links, street addresses, or house numbers in a job, a quote, or a job photo. People reach each other with the Call, Text, and Email buttons, from their own phones.
- Describe the job honestly, and only post photos you took of the job — nothing that shows someone’s face or another person’s home.
- Pros: quote only on work you can do and are licensed and insured for where the law requires it. Read the whole lead (the homeowner’s job, on your Leads tab) before you quote, and give a price you mean — no copy-and-paste quotes sent to every lead, and no quote meant only to get a call about something else.
- A quote is a rough price, not a contract. Agree the real price and the work in writing before anything starts, and never ask for the full amount up front.
- No discrimination. A job may not ask for or rule out a pro because of who they are, and a pro may not price differently or turn a homeowner down because of who they are (Section 2).
- A person reads a member’s jobs before pros see them until one has been approved — for most members, just the first; after that, jobs go up straight away. Report any job or quote that breaks these rules from its “…” menu, and we may remove it.
- Bookings: a booking request is a real request for a real job, sent to a pro you actually want to hear from. Do not book a time you do not mean to keep, and do not book a pro’s times to keep other customers out.
- Show up, or cancel early. If you cannot keep a booked time, cancel it in the app as soon as you know, so the other side is not left waiting and the time can go to someone else.
- Mark a no-show only when the other side really did not come. It is a record between the two of you that the other side is told about — never a way to get back at someone.
- Pros: keep your bookable times true, and confirm or decline each request yourself — a request you do not answer within eight hours expires — and decline rather than leave a customer waiting. Use a customer’s address and phone number for that booking only.
9. No Scraping, No Spam, No Games
- Do not copy the directory, scrape it, or use it to build another one or to recruit pros to another platform.
- No unsolicited commercial messages to pros or customers.
- No impersonation, no interfering with the service, nothing unlawful.
10. Report It Rather Than Fight It
- Tap “Report a problem” on any pro’s page in the app. On a member’s page (on the Friends tab, tap their face, then the card with their name), tap the “…” button, then “Report this person”. Pros report a lead, and homeowners report a quote, from the “…” button on it. To report a review, email support@geteeda.com and tell us what happened and when.
- If you can no longer find the member, email support@geteeda.com with their name and what happened.
- You can also block a member from the same “…” menu. They will not find you on the Friends tab and neither of you sees the other’s saved pros. Blocking is not a report — if a rule was broken, report it too.
- A listing that five different established accounts report within 30 days is pulled from search automatically until we have looked at it. An established account is one at least a week old; other reports still reach us, they just do not trigger the automatic pause.
- If someone is in danger, call 911 first, then tell us.
11. What Happens When a Rule Is Broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may warn you, remove the content, pause a listing, or close the account. When we do, we tell you which rule it was about, in the app or by email, unless the law stops us or telling you would put someone at risk. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that message or email support@geteeda.com within 30 days; a different person than the one who decided will look again, and if we were wrong, we put it back.
We read every review before it appears and may decide not to post it. We may also hide a review from a listing later, and we put it back if we got it wrong. We never change the words of a review — we leave it as written or hide it — and we do not hide a review just because it is negative or because a pro asks. We also do not decide who was right in a disagreement between a customer and a pro; that is between the two of you.
